02 — The spaces
A house of whitewash and blue
A detached, single-storey villa, with the living room at its centre and the bedrooms in a row
along the corridor. Terracotta floors, pale blue majolica in the kitchen, wooden
shutters. There are windows and French doors everywhere: the house stays cool and airy
even on the hottest days.

The south-west one faces the sea and the sunset. The north-east one has the big table under the pergola and the fitted barbecue.

The garden around the house sits inside a pine wood, looking towards the sea and the mountain. Outside there are two showers and two basins for coming back from the beach.

The villa is the right base for western Sicily: Monte Cofano is within walking distance, Segesta
is twenty minutes away, Erice thirty, and the ferries to the Aegadian Islands leave from
the port of Trapani.
